How to Apply for Tuition Assistance

FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment is a third-party entity that conducts the financial need analysis for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia/BLOCS and St. James Regional Catholic School. Families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment by March to receive aid for the following school year. Financial Aid decisions are determined during the summer. The application fee is $30. Only families with a FACTS Grant & Aid account will be considered for financial aid.
Once you complete an online application, you will need to send copies of your most recent Federal tax forms including all supporting tax schedules. All supporting documentation must be uploaded in PDF format. FACTS will contact those families that do not file a tax return to what documents are needed to complete the application.

BLOCS Scholarship
BLOCS (Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools) is the premier needs-based scholarship organization in the Philadelphia region providing students with a high degree of success in Catholic schools. The BLOCS application enrollment period for student's Pre-K through 8th grade for the 2026/2027 school year is now open.

BLOCS Scholarships are need-based, and income qualifications apply.  Families with one dependent should have an annual income of up to $136,483 for one child, $156,911 for two children, $177,339 for three children, and $197,767 for four children are eligible to receive funds. 

Once you complete the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment application, you will automatically be considered for a BLOCS Scholarship.

Grants Offered 

Transfer Grant

Awarded by the Foundation of Catholic Education in partnership with Saint James Regional Catholic School. Any student who transfers into Saint James in grades 2-7 from a non-Catholic school for the 2026-2027 school year will be eligible for this grant.  This is a two-year program.  In year one the grant awarded is $1000, and in year two the grant awarded is $500.  Again, please share this information with friends who are thinking about making a move.

PA Knights of Columbus- Grant
Catholic School Student Grant Program - PA Knights of Columbus (kofcpennsylvania.org)

The Educational Foundation will be processing at least fifty (50) $1,000.00 Knights of Columbus Student Grants paid to the Catholic School Grades 1 through 12 where the Knight of Columbus member’s child is enrolled. Applications will be accepted by the Educational Foundation Secretary, if postmarked no later than January 31, 2026. The Educational Foundation members will then hold a drawing, and the winners will be notified by the Secretary and also posted on the state web site. Only applications post marked no later than January 31 each year will be eligible for the drawing.

William James Bridy Memorial Scholarship Fund
William James Bridy was an Alumni of Saint James Catholic High School class of 1963. Bill is remembered for his generosity to friends, and more than anything, his devotion to family and his belief and dedication to his Catholic identity and education. In his memory his family has committed to awarding $1000.00 to a Saint James Regional Catholic School student each year through 2033. This scholarship will be awarded by the Saint James Regional School to an upper grade level student who has demonstrated a strong interest in STEM subjects and whose family has a demonstrated need for financial aid.

Margie & John Lenge Scholarship Fund
John Lenge is an Alumni of Saint James Catholic High School.  John Lenge taught art and drafting at St. James Catholic High School until it closed in 1993. Following it's closure, he began teaching Art at Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast High School where he remains a member of the faulty still.  Margie and John have committed to awarding $1000.00 to a Saint James Regional Catholic School student each year through 2029. This scholarship will be awarded by the Saint James Regional School to an upper grade level student who has demonstrated a strong interest in Art subject and whose family has a demonstrated need for financial aid.

Lawrence and Phyllis Rebbecchi Sr. Memorial Scholarship -
Rebbecchi Memorial Fund (stanthonysswphila.com)
For eligible 7th or 8th grade students. $1250.00 awarded to up to 8 students from local parishes. Must be a practicing catholic. Must have a "B" or better average or equivalent GPA. Completed application must be submitted as a PDF. Submit prior marking period report card. Submit a 500-word max. essay on "Why Catholic education is important to you." 
 

Ricky Borraccini Memorial Scholarship Fund 
Was established to honor the memory of Ricky "Cricket" Borraccini who was tragically killed in a car accident on July 3, 1983. Ricky was just 19 years old. Children First America Delaware County Pennsylvania is organized for the purpose of distributing scholarships to needy families of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and will not limit it’s scholarships to children who attend one school only. Recipients are free to choose the schools of their choice whether private, public or parochial.

Accepts request for applications in their annual Scholarship Program. Scholarships are awarded to students who are graduating from 8th grade and to students currently enrolled in high school. Notre Dame Moylan Alumnae Association - Academic Scholarship
Is pleased to offer a $1000.00 per year Academic Scholarship covering four-year period to one female 8th grade student to attend an area Catholic High School of their choice. Student must be currently enrolled in a Catholic elementary or middle school.
